What is Pa-Kua?
Pa-Kua is an ancient knowledge that has served humanity, from ancient times to the present, in the attempt to understand the changes and adapt to them in order to live in a state of greater harmony. In the international League of Pa-Kua, we approach this ancient and exciting knowledge through the practice of one or more of our “disciplines”.
While the name ‘Pa-Kua’ is shared with other Eastern disciplines, our teaching system is unique and has nothing to do with them. What is taught in our League is a complete, practical and enormously useful knowledge for all people regardless of their age. It is practiced in a non-competitive way, always paying attention to the possibilities and needs of each student.
The pillars of our teaching
- Respect and honor
- Honesty
- Effort and merit
- Personal progress
- The family as the social cell
- The promotion of individual freedom
- The care for the weakest, the child, the elderly, and the new student
- Non-competition based on the principle of personal evolution
The Origin of Pa-Kua
The earliest stories about the origin of the knowledge of Pa-Kua begin in Chinese mythology, dating back around 5,000 years. Records indicate that Emperor Fu-Hsi, in a state of contemplation on the banks of the Yellow River, saw a turtle emerging from the water.
On its shell, Fu-Hsi saw the eight states of mutation—the trigrams that are found in the Pa-Kua symbol and that help to understand and explain universal events.

Master Rogelio Magliacano began practicing Chinese and Korean martial arts at the age of nine, achieving advanced ranks in several of the styles he trained in. His pursuit of knowledge also led him to study various Eastern therapeutic techniques.
After 25 years of training, Master Rogelio Magliacano began studying Pa-Kua knowledge in the East. In 1976, he founded the International Pa-Kua League, which expanded worldwide through the efforts of some of his disciples. Today, the organization is present in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, the United States, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, England, Uruguay, Peru, Canada, Bolivia, and Israel.
In 2006, after 30 years leading the International Pa-Kua League, Master Rogelio Magliacano appointed Master Nicolás Darío Moyano as his successor. Since then, the League has been led by Master Moyano together with Master Fernando Martín Sandri.
Both Masters work continuously to elevate all aspects of teaching to the highest standards of excellence. To achieve this, they regularly review and update study programs and teaching methodologies. Alongside the most senior Masters, they frequently visit the more than 200 locations around the world where Pa-Kua is taught. They also travel regularly to China to continue researching the various branches of Eastern knowledge.
As part of this ongoing commitment to the study, preservation, and advancement of knowledge, Masters Nicolás D. Moyano and Fernando M. Sandri present the book I Ching – A Structural Reading of Change. This work offers a clear and accessible approach to one of the most important texts of the Eastern tradition, connecting its principles to the study of Pa-Kua and to the understanding of the processes of transformation that are present in life, practice, and human development.
